...and needed to be proofread, so it'd actually say "71 St. Peter's" instead of "71st Peter's". *d'oh*

Pride Sucked

yea there was no turn out I was very disappointed. I am never going to
San Jose Pride again. I lived in CA for yrs and it was never this small. Being father's day is no excuse cause alot of gays usually come out to support no matter what. How sad!

Re: Pride Sucked

Sorry you felt this way.

I'm not sure what day you went, but Saturday is family day and attendance is usually some what low.

Sunday's attendance seemed to be about normal for San Jose. The layout did help spread out the people into different areas...With the dance area in the back that was quite full most of the day. The amount of people watching the parade was rather low this year, but truly, Pride is a celebration and would be a success even if it was just a few people walking down the street carrying flags and a handful of people there watching them.

When I was working in one of the booths, I was able to talk to people and they were there from all over California. Which in itself is a major accompishment. San Jose Pride will never be as large as other major cities cause there just isn't enough coporate sponsorship backing it. That is the sad part.

I do hope that you take the time to visit the San Jose Pride website and leave feedback. Though it probably won't be on the positive side, maybe you can throw a few thoughts in that might help with the planning of San Jose Pride in the future.
